Spreewald Steam Loco - DR Dampflok 99 5633 |
This beautifully proportioned tank locomotive was built in 1917 at the Jung Locomotive Works with builders number 2517 for the narrow gauge Pillkaller Kleinbahn. However, the loco didnīt become well known until it was transferred to the Spreewaldbahn, a popular line running along the canals and tree-lined roads near Cottbus. The Spreewald line is gone now, but the"Spreewald" loco has been preserved by the Deutscher Eisenbahn Verein (DEV) in Bruchhausen-Vilsen. |
