In year 2003 I started a garden railway project in G-scale. The aim was to combine a model railroad and a beautiful garden to create a railway-like atmosphere as close as possible for to a 'real' railway. A small local line, with little engines, short cars, and tight curves, has been constructed to fit into the limited space. The theeme for the railway is an old-fashioned, 1000 mm narrow gauge steam railway inspired by the German Spreewaldbahn with 2 small Roundhouse live steam engines and few rolling stock. The trees are 'bonsai type' among others larch (Larix decedua japonica), littleleaf lilac (Syringa microphylla), Compressa (Juniperus Communis) and box trees (Buxus sempervirens). In general I'm following the rule, less is more. |
