The story of the steam loco "Lucas" - Spreewaldbahn 09-27:
|

|
Prototype for the "Lucas'` model is tank loco no. 23, which was built in 1917 by the firm
Jung for the Pillkaller Kleinbahn AG. It arrived in 1944 at the "Spreewaldbahn" at Cottbus and
received the name loco 09-27. |

With the "Lucas" the history of the steam railway came to life again. The Spreewald model brings us back to the times when steam engines still ruled the railways. Exactly like all the great locomotives of the past, our model is powered by steam. It is equipped with a real boiler, steam cylinder, valves, and all other characteristic features. And when this small powerful locomotive is literally under steam, you will no doubt enjoy the unmistakable sound of the rushing engine and the typical steam whistle. The scaled-down replica of the designation is based on the original locomotive's employment at the Spreewald railway network and the inscriptions on the loco refer to the application in the network of the "Spreewald"-railway. The model "Lucas" is gas-fired and can be filled with commercial lighter-gas. After you have placed the machine on the rails, the burner can be lit by a match or lighter at the smoke stack. The running period lasts approximately 20 minutes without interruption. In case of stop-and-go operation the running period extends accordingly. The Spreewald steam locomotive is upgradeable. For example, the steam model can be operated by remote control with great ease and technical perfection. By remote control, you can set direction and speed or stop the engine |
